First of all, welcome to my new blog Dream Travel Girl, I’m so happy to see you here!
It’s been two months since I came back from my round the world solo trip. Two months that have been both very intense and very busy.
Very intense because after 11 months of moving non-stop, discovering new places and meeting new people, I’m back to my roots. That is, I’m back to my hometown Barcelona, which I left more than 11 years ago. I’ve also gone to Toulouse, France, where I lived for 8 years before my long term trip.
You can imagine how many memories I got back these last weeks. More importantly, I can see them with new eyes, with better understanding. But this is a story for another day.
Today I want to introduce you the reason why I’ve been so busy these last two months.
Dream Travel Girl, my new project
I started my old blog Colibrist to share my round the world solo trip with my family and friends, an easy way to keep them updated with my adventures and show them my pictures.
I managed to keep my blog active during the whole trip. Even more, I loved it.
So now I have decided to go one step further: I want to help.
Traveling long term alone has been so incredibly life changing and positive for me. I know myself much better, I know what I want and what I don’t, I have less fears and I have increased my self confidence.
When I think about all the fears and doubts I had before the trip…!
Traveling alone is one of the best decisions I have taken.
So I want to help people who wish to travel alone but are scared or do not know where to start. Long term travel or short trip, there is no reason to stay at home just because nobody can come with you. Travel alone, leave your fears behind.
I explain my new project in more detail here.
Why a new name?
As much as I liked the name of my old blog, Colibrist did not tell much about the content of the blog. For this new project, I wished to have a more clear, inspiring name.
Why a new platform and design?
To write a blog as a hobby wordpress.com was great. Intuitive and easy to use.
However, for a more serious blog wordpress.com was not enough. WordPress.org is more customizable, offers more possibilities and has nicer designs. And the most important: I am the owner of the contents I publish and I have full control of my blog.

Final Note
If you are new here, nice to meet you!
If you are a Colibrist reader, thanks for following me all this time! By the way, be aware that wordpress feeds and colibrist e-mail updates will no longer work.
If you wish to receive updates from Dream Travel Girl you can subscribe to my newsletter here below or on the right sidebar (and I give you an ebook for free!).
I am as always available in facebook and I have created a new account in twitter (@dreamtravelgirl).
Hope to see you around!
Which are your fears? Is there any specific question/ topic that you would like me to write about? I’d love to hear from you!
Loving the new site design Laia!! And I love the new focus of helping other girls travel solo :). I’m starting to try out some short solo traveling trips (even though I do travel with my bf) because I want to gain the confidence and know that I can take care of myself alone on the road. Looking forward to reading your new posts!
Thanks Anna! So happy to see you here and happy that you like my new blog! I think it is a good idea to take some short solo trips (or day solo trips) even if you travel with your bf, it is a great experience to gain in confidence. If we go around alone at home, why not on the road? Let me know if I can help you 🙂
Happy travels!
