Huay Bo is the most off the beaten path place I have ever reached on my own. It took 3 hours walking from Muang Ngoi to find this village with no roads, no internet and no electricity network, where I spent two days learning about the lifestyle of its people. One of the best experiences I had in Laos.
Northern Laos: Muang Ngoi Neua surprised me (twice!)
Muang Ngoi used to be an unknown destination in northern Laos, a beautiful village with no electricity or internet, only possible to reach by boat. It is changing now, but it still surprised me in a positive way.
Northern Laos: Muang Khoa and the coolest bridge ever
Muang Khoa was the first of the small villages in northern Laos that I wanted to visit. It is not a popular tourist destination, I went there because I wanted to travel south through the river Nam Ou and, oh surprise, I fell in love with Muang Khoa and its people.
