A few months ago I wrote about the challenges and rewards of solo travel, but I still hadn’t talked about the reality of long term travel. Here I present you the 15 challenges and rewards of traveling long term.
Northern Thailand by motorbike (4): Mae Sariang and Doi Inthanon
During the last two days of the road trip we went from Mae Hong Son to Chiang Mai via Mae Sariang and Doi Inthanon. And it happened again: my best memories are not from the places, but people. A woman who gave us tea. And I learnt that it is important to smile, and give, in order to receive.
Northern Thailand by motorbike (3): Mae Hong Son and jungle trekking
Travel gives us the opportunity to challenge our limits. In Mae Hong Son, where we stopped after several days on the road, I tested mine. One of the highlights of the city is to do a jungle trekking, and long treks are a challenge for me since I have a small problem in my back.
Northern Thailand by motorbike (2): Huai Nam Dang and Soppong
In the second part of the motorbike road trip we went from Chiang Dao to Mae Hong Son. We had no plans, let the trip flow by itself, and the trip took us to some off the beaten path places: Huai Nam Dang National Park and Soppong, which has a huge cave with geological formations.
Northern Thailand by motorbike (1): Chiang Dao and Phrao
One of the many things I like about travel is that it takes you out of your comfort zone. After a year traveling alone I traveled again with someone else, and in a way I had never done before: a motorbike road trip. This is the first part in which we visited Phrao and Chiang Dao, two lesser known villages with stunning scenery located north of Chiang Mai.
