I’m on the road again! This time, in northern Thailand, where I spent a few days in a Lahu village (a hill tribe village) near Chiang Mai. Try to imagine it: stilt houses made of wood and bamboo, beautiful lush green mountains, chickens and pigs around the streets, an interesting culture and friendly people. How is it to live there?
In my last post I told you about the 10 best experiences of my round the world solo trip, but in life there are good and bad moments and traveling is no exception. I didn’t suffer any major mishap, but I did have some bad moments. Nothing too serious and today I laugh about them. Ready to laugh with me?
Chosing the best experiences of the trip has been a difficult task, I had so many intense moments! But here they are. As you’ll see, most of them are related to people. Even more: I believe that some of these experiences wouldn’t have happened if I had not been traveling alone.
Four months of travel completed, each of them special in its own way. I will remember this month for all the unexpected things that happened, mostly thanks to couchsurfing. These are the reflections of my fourth month of solo travel, with a summary of the places I visited and the best moments I had.
It was the friends that I made in couchsurfing the main reason why I came back to Penang after my days in the tropical islands. In addition, in my first visit I had only been in Georgetown and I missed many things. Penang has a lot to offer.
