In the last post I presented the two first highlights of Karnataka, Mysore and the ancient temples. This is the second part featuring nature, the origin of Kaveri river and a Tibetan settlement.
5 highlights of Karnataka, India (part 1)
After three weeks in beautiful Kerala, it was time to move on and go to another State. I present you the first part of the five highlights of surprising Karnataka: beautiful Mysore and ancient temples.
Kochi: friends, weddings and elephants
Kochi is a colonial city in the coast of Kerala. It is a well known city but the best of my stay was not the city itself: it was meeting friends, finding by coincidence an Indian christian wedding and attending a Hindu ceremony for the god Vishnu (with elephants!).
Munnar: thoughts between tea plantations
In Munnar I felt alone for the first time in India. It was cold. It was misty. It was solitary. During those two days, I thought about my first week of solo travel and how I was feeling about it.
Backwaters of Kerala: Allepey by local ferry
I knew Allepey is a touristic place, one of the main gateways to the backwaters. But I went there for a reason: I had explored the backwaters in Poovar by motor boat and in Munroe island by canoe, and I wanted to try a different way. And I could do it there.
